Stepping Into a Director Role at Blue Green Yonder

I’ve been fortunate to spend the last while working alongside the great team at Blue Green Yonder, and I’m delighted to share that I’ve now stepped into a director role. It’s a natural next step for me, one that sits alongside my current work, but rooted in something that matters deeply here at home.

Blue Green Yonder has always been about more than activities. Yes, you can come for a paddle, a boat tour, or an archery session but what stays with people is the feeling of connection. Connection with the outdoors, with the water, and often with each other. Castle Island has a spirit that you notice the moment you arrive, and it’s now a privilege to help shape that.

Looking ahead, there’s a lot to be excited about. This Autumn and Winter will see new experiences on the island, and we’re already sketching out a fresh programme for 2026. But we’re also thinking bigger: how to make Blue Green Yonder a place that draws people back in every season, whether it’s families exploring together, schools discovering nature and history, or teams finding space to reconnect in a unique setting.

The future holds more stories, more adventures, and more ways for the island to play its part in the community. And while I can’t share everything just yet, I can say we’re working on things that go beyond activities, a digital passport app to make visits more interactive, new spaces like the Zero Bar and the Campfire Café that’s been running throughout August, Saturday openings for the coffee shop, and a calendar that embraces the island’s heritage and history. Expect cultural events, storytelling, music, and a chance to experience Castle Island in new and unexpected ways.

If you’re looking for something different to do with friends, family, or colleagues, I’d encourage you to come and see us on Castle Island. We’d love to welcome you.
