We already rate films and games. The web is now as influential as both, yet it has no consistent, understandable age signalling. The idea A voluntary certification framework for websites. Not government censorship. Not mandatory controls. A simple signal that helps users and caregivers make informed choices. How it could work - A small set of categories, similar to existing content ratings - A machine readable certificate published by the site - Browser and device tooling that can respect user age settings The hard parts Global adoption is hard. Abuse and false claims are a risk. Privacy needs to be protected. Any system must be transparent and optional. But the core goal is worth discussing. The internet should be safer for young people without flattening creativity for everyone else.
